Different Deutzias have been flowering here for a couple of months now with the last few still starting to open, so I've been quietly collecting pictures ready for an upcoming summer Deutzia-Fest.
Just to whet your appetite, here is the extremely common Deutzia 'Strawberry Fields'. In case you are tempted to buy one to pop it in a corner and look pretty, practice your pruning skills - this photo is looking up into a large bush now 2m high!
It's a wonderful variety, but why on earth is it on sale in nurseries with three different names? If you'd like to know the answer....don't hold your breath: I'm as baffled as you are!
