AUTUMN HIGHLIGHTS 1

Quercus palustris 'Isobel' - a dwarf 'swamp oak' - around 1m high after twelve years in the ground. Pretty most of the year, very striking in its autumn dress!

The dwarf forms of Q palustris are very attractive: so is the species, but be warned - we planted one labelled 'Swamp Pygmy' - which should have been even smaller than 'Isobel' - it turned out to be the species, and has grown 10m in ten years!
